What size do I need?
To size the Push med CMC thumb brace, please measure the circumference of your hand excluding your thumb.

Handling
The correct fit of the Push ortho thumb orthosis CMC is necessary for it to be fully effective.
Before applying the orthosis for the first time, gently pull the metal insert apart slightly to widen it. Place the orthosis on the hand or thumb and press it down as far as possible around the base of the thumb joint. First, fasten the lower strap, which is closest to the wrist. Then, fasten the upper strap.
Care and material composition
How to care for your Push ortho thumb orthosis CMC
Please note the following instructions for washing and caring for the thumb orthosis:
- Fasten all hook-and-loop fasteners and wash the orthosis on a gentle cycle or by hand at a maximum of 30°C. Use a mild detergent without fabric softener and rinse the orthosis thoroughly.
- The orthotic can be spun gently, but please do not wring it out.
- Shape the orthosis and let it air dry outside.
- Please do not tumble dry, dry on a radiator or in direct sunlight, and do not iron the orthosis.
- To maintain the quality of the orthosis, please do not use chemical cleaners, bleach, petrol, or fabric softener.
- The orthosis must be dried after each use before storage.

Stabilisation and mobility
Osteoarthritis of the thumb saddle joint (CMC-I*) leads to functional instability of the thumb joint as a result of degeneration of the articular cartilage. The Push Thumb Brace CMC stabilises your thumb saddle joint (CMC-I) and positions the metacarpal bone of the thumb (Metacarpal I) in a functional position. This creates a functional thumb arch that remains stable during hand use. This relieves pain when your thumb is under strain.
This stabilisation method allows the MCP-I joint (1st metacarpophalangeal joint, the joint between the thumb and the metacarpal bone behind it) and the wrist to move freely, ensuring optimal hand function.
